It’s that time of the year again! The holidays means holiday music, and you can download the classic Lovespirals’ cover of John Denver’s “Aspen Glow” gratis from the fine folks at Losing Today. This song is special to us, as it was the first ever officially released Lovespirals song, recorded in 2001 for the Projekt holiday compilation, Excelsis Vol 3. You can still buy this CD, in fact, its currently on the Projekt Top 10. “Aspen Glow” was also included on the 2002 limited edition of A Dark Noel: The Very Best of Excelsis release created for Hot Topic stores.

Lovespirals & Love Spirals Downwards Dominate Projekt Top 10
The Projekt.com Top 10 currently lists the newly released Love Spirals Downwards – Idylls [Remastered Reissue] at the #1 spot, followed closely by Love Spirals Downwards – Ardor [Remastered Reissue] at #3. Trailing slightly behind is the new Lovespirals – Long Way From Home (which was actually released by Chillcuts, not Projekt) at the #8 position and Lovespirals – Windblown Kiss — which Projekt released back in 2002 — at #9. With the #5, #6, and #10 albums being comps that include tracks by Lovespirals and/or Love Spirals Downwards, I guess you could say that we’re dominating the Projekt Top 10 charts!

Love Spirals Downwards CDs in Webstore
Two Love Spirals Downwards CDs have been added to the Lovespirals webstore this week. The first is 1998’s Flux, which includes the Kristen Perry co-written song, “Psyche,” that aired on Dawson’s Creek and “Sunset Bell” – featuring Jennifer Ryan-Fuller – which appeared on La Femme Nikita. The second is 1996’s Ever, whose ambient electronica track “Madras” – featuring hypnotic vocals by Suzanne Perry – was selected last year for the iTunes Essentials Shoegaze & Beyond playlist alongside legendary bands Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Jesus and Mary Chain, Lush, and more. Band founder, Ryan Lum, will personally autograph any LSD album sold through the webstore.
New song, new Yahoo! Group, & ProjektFest
We’ve updated our Mp3.com page with brand new artwork and a new song, “Windblown Kiss”, from our upcoming album on Projekt. Special thanks goes out to our wonderful photographer, Susan Jennings, for all her awesome work with us!
Speaking of Projekt, looks like we’re doing the Projekt Fest 2002 this May, just in time for the release for our new album! We’re still working out how we’ll peform our set live, which will be a bit of a challenge, but fun. Doron plans to come with us, so you can expect a little more sax live than on the album, which should prove interesting.
Lastly, we now have a Lovespirals Yahoo! Group for those seeking a public forum about the band. Included on the newsgroup is lyrics, band photos, links to various interviews, reviews etc on outside sites and other fun stuff.
