Nice comment!

DJ Bryan, of “The Witching Hour: on WRSU, New Jersey, was sweet enough to including this quip in his weekly playlist:

Windblown Kiss has got to be my favorite release from Ryan Lum. Even the DJ who spins house music before my show liked what he heard. He described it as ‘seductive’.”

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside…

First WK review

LovespiralsWindblown Kiss (Projekt): Love Spirals Downwards remove the “Downwards,” dispense with the electronic beats of Flux, and change the singer, but remain as ethereally innocuous as ever, if a bit more eclectic. — Angry Robot

Pretty much to the point, eh? I looked up “innocuous” just to make sure that there actually is a positive use for it. Ha ha!

Touring

I’ve been thinking that it would be nice to do a few short tours to support the album. We could try to set up small West Coast and East Coast tours, plus a show or two in Mexico, at the very least… No idea how we’d go about booking it, though. I wonder if we should try to travel with another Projekt band or two, or just go it solo? We’ll have to talk to everybody at ProjektFest, to see what they think!

Practice

Had our first real practice session yesterday. Made a few tweaks to the song lineup, and now we think we have something both comfortable and dynamic. After several run throughs we both felt nice ‘n’ loose. Ryan’s got quite a few guitar solos to perform, something he’s never really done in prior live shows, so he’s a bit nervous. We have yet to practice with Doron, who will be handling several solos for us on sax, so that should be exciting to hear. So far, though, so good. 5 more weeks to go!

Windblown Kiss Update

Windblown Kiss has gone into production! Due out June 18, 2002, the album
contains 10 tracks (plus a bonus “hidden track” shhhh) totaling 47 minutes.
The album includes two collaborations with Australian singer/songwriter, Sean Bowley
(formerly of Eden), in addition to several guest appearances by Doron Orenstein
(of L.A.’s Frescoe), on saxophone.
