Will It Ever Be The Same

You don’t see me
You don’t hear me
Not sure I even exist to you
And everything that you’ve put me through

Are we still on the same plane?
Are we still on the same page?

We’re moving
In circles
Like planets, orbit slowly
Are you even aware of me?

Are we still on the same plane?
Are we still on the same page?

Can you see my face?
Or have I been erased?
Do you recall my name?
And tell me, will it ever be the same?

Are we still on the same plane?
Are we still on the same page?

Can you see my face?
Or have I been erased?
Do you recall my name?
And tell me, will it ever be the same?

Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me
Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me

Are You Lonely

Screen glows blue
In a darkened room
Welcoming light
In the growing gloom

Quiet as a black hole
Up in space
Cold and alone
In this empty place

Are you lonely
Like I am lonely?
Will you reach out, reach out
To hold me?
Tell me, are you lonely
Like I am lonely?
Will you reach out, reach out
To hold me?

Are you lonely
Like I am lonely?
Will you reach out, reach out
To hold me?
Tell me, are you lonely
Like I am lonely?
Will you reach out, reach out
To hold me?

Sending out a message to you
Hoping and I’m praying
It’ll get through
Oh oh oh
Sending out a message to you

It’s Alright

It’s alright, it’s alright, its alright with me

I got a way of being busy
There’s always something more to do
When I come up for air
It’s the little things that help me to get through

Like watching an old movie on TV (it’s alright)
Drinking a bottle of cheap Sonoma wine (it’s alright)
Cracking up on jokes you told a hundred times
Well, that’s alright, you know it’s OK with me
I said it’s alright

It’s alright, it’s alright with me

You’ve got a way of being distant
Something is always on your mind
When you come up for air
It’s the little things that help ya through the night

Like watching an old movie on TV (it’s alright)
Drinking a bottle of cheap Sonoma wine (it’s alright)
Cracking up on jokes you told a hundred times
But that’s alright, you know it’s OK with me
I said it’s alright

It’s alright, it’s alright, its alright with me
It’s alright

Lovespirals’ brand new 5th album, ‘Life Goes On,’ is available to stream on Spotify. We’ve been putting a little time into developing our artist profile over there, and plan to create more playlists featuring some of our musical influences and inspirations, so please “follow” us over there to stay up to date! Meanwhile, we hope you’ll find some tracks that you love enough to share on your own playlists, and that you’ll give our album a “thumbs up” on this popular streaming service. And if you’d like to pick up a limited edition eco-friendly CD, autographed by Ryan and Anji, you can still grab one of those from shop.happyhealthyvegan.org — the first 100 orders come with a ‘Life Goes On’ pin!

“Motherless Child” Official Music Video

The first single from Lovespirals’ 2007 album, ‘Long Way From Home,’ was a heart-rending ethereal blues cover of the anonymous American spiritual, “Motherless Child.” It also appears on the ‘Motherless Child EP‘ released September 16, 2007. Anji filmed the scenes for this music video on a road trip to Sonoma County, California.

The ‘Motherless Child EP’ is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Bandcamp and other online music stores.

“Heartstrings” Single & Music Video Out Now

Part Dream Pop, part Americana, the new single from Lovespirals is considerably more upbeat than “Brother Against Brother,” the first single. Ryan juxtaposes driving blues riffs and dreamy shoegazer guitar, finding a delicious balance between his earlier Love Spirals Downwards work and more recent Lovespirals work. Anji’s vocals exude the confidence born from years of familiarity with the material, with a lovely harmony of her natural earthy tone and haunting upper register.

“Heartstrings” is a lovely high point in the tracklisting for Lovespirals’ upcoming 5th album. The song is a celebration of the duo’s creative connection and the love that goes into Ryan and Anji’s music. The music video, created by the band themselves, is a beautiful representation of the song, shot during the height of California wildflower season. With 3 years of experience shooting, editing and producing videos for their YouTube channel, Happy Healthy Vegan, this creative couple have created what is surely their best and most professional looking music video to date.

“Sandcastles” Official Music Video

Enjoy this new video for “Sandcastles,” the epic closing track to Lovespirals’ album, ‘Free and Easy.’ Enjoy two gorgeous sunsets over the Pacific Ocean, shot at the pristine So Cal beach, Crystal Cove. The first sunset was shot from down on the beach, while the second one was filmed from up on the bluff. The second sunset is the most amazing technicolor sky Anji and Ryan have ever experienced, and it really brings the gospel like chorus and electric guitar solo of the end 3rd of this song to life!

MUSIC: “Sandcastles” by Lovespirals From the album, ‘Free & Easy’ (2005) Available at http://lovespirals.bandcamp.com Or iTunes, Amazon, Google Play or Spotify

“Breath Of Life” Official Music Video

The B-side to Lovespirals’ new single, “Brother Against Brother,” is a dreamy, mystical, ambient guitar and vocal piece that was originally written for the opening sequence of a documentary film of the same name about the Mauli Ola Foundation by Michael Squier. The version of the song offered here has been slightly updated with additional vocals, guitar, and new production. The amazing time lapse video sequences were all shot by Michael Squier, some of which appeared in his film of the same name.

Buy the ‘Brother Against Brother’ 2-song single or the full album, ‘Life Goes On,’ featuring this song on CD or as a digital download on the Lovespirals Bandcamp page.

Back From Our San Francisco Trip

Once again, we had a blast with Karmacoda! It was an honor for Anji to share the stage with them for their epic remix of “Motherless Child,” and fun for Ryan to do a DJ set for the Harlot crowd. A few of the songs for the upcoming Anji Bee album were shared for the first time, which was exciting. Local friends came out to hang. Good times!

Ryan Lum DJs at Club Violane

Club Violane, “LA’s only shoegazer & dream pop party,” recently returned after a 2 year hiatus to celebrate a visit from one of its beloved founders, DJ Wednesday. Everyone came out, including Ryan’s old Love Spirals Downwards bandmate, Suzanne Perry (currently of of Melodyguild), as well as local musician friends, Drew Pluta (formerly of Arcanta) and Rodney Rodriguez (formerly of The Von Trapps), both of whom performed with LSD during their final live tour.

The event was so successful that Club Violane opened again the following month for a Saint Marie Records night to launch their new release by local band, Broaddaylight. Ryan was one of several DJs that night, along with James of Broaddaylight and Mo of The Flir, plus house DJs Doomie and JuaNN. Local bands Sway, The Bixby Knolls, and Ancient Arms also performed. Check out Ryan’s DJ set on the band’s MixCloud account:
